Valeriya Antonshchuk is a storyteller, Murrow award-winning and Emmy-nominated news booking producer, and a lover of all things theatre, history, literature and politics.

As an associate booking producer at NBC News, Valeriya has been a part of the network’s coverage of everything from foreign wars, elections and high-profile trials, to Olympic Games, award shows, and holiday specials.

Born in Ukraine, Valeriya has always been interested in how we connect with the world around us, and how we connect with each other. Media, art and entertainment have been core influences throughout her life. From her dance background to the films, shows and books that have been most meaningful to her, she would not be who she is today without the influence of art and media. These sources of inspiration have allowed her to understand and appreciate the impact media can have on our society, and to work toward a career where she can be a part of that impact in a positive way.

Valeriya graduated from the University of Florida, where she studied telecommunication news and political science. Throughout her time at college, Valeriya gained experience in writing, reporting, producing, directing, marketing and more. Prior to getting her start at NBC News and TODAY, Valeriya completed an editorial internship with CNN International, writing and producing segments on art, entertainment and climate news for a worldwide audience. Previously working on the production crew at PBS-affiliate WUFT News, Valeriya has immersed herself in various roles within live television production, working as a director and producer for the “First at Five” newscast. In the process, she has fallen in love with the infectious energy of live television production. Valeriya has also been involved with the Independent Florida Alligator as an art and entertainment writer and news podcast producer.

Outside of college, Valeriya has been involved with theatre production at The Public Theater and The McKittrick Hotel in New York City, cultivating her interests in theatre production and entertainment.
